This chart illustrates the housing affordability in Australia between 1980-2016 which
shows the enormous  price gap in the last 35 years. The prices of the houses have rocketed since 1980 especially in Sydney reaching $1 million dollars each. In  the 1980s the housing prices in Australia  were stable. Nowadays the most expensive houses can be found  in Sydney compared to the most cheapest houses in  Hobart which  cost is around $400 000 .  The house  prices in Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra  fluctuated slightly in the last decade.
In general, the house prices in Sydney and Melbourne are the most expensive in Australia  and that     is why citizens can not afford buying them, while in Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra the         prices are more affordable and they do not put the Australian families under pressure.
